While watching a movie, you probably don’t think about how much was a certain movie paused or what is the most paused scene in it. But when you really look into it, you may find something interesting.
A lot of movies have little easter-eggs where if you pause at the right moment you may find a certain detail or spoiler about the plot.
There are a lot of people that after years of watching a movie have come forward to talk about certain things you may see once you pause a movie!
Let’s see together a lot of insane things you missed in movies, that can be found easily if you just stop it in the right time!
Wedding Crashers (2005)
Wedding Crashers is a movie with the amazing Owen Wilson and isla fisher. While Owen is a more known name and definitely a star in this movie, it was isla who really did shine in it.
To get this part, it is said isla was perfect for it. They say she crawled all over the director and then immediately got her role in it. The wild character for sure got a lot of attention.
Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014)
For Captain America: The Winter Soldier, there is a small easter-eggs. Here, a lot of people paused and started looking at the notes to see what was written. Well, it is the list of things our captains are trying to catch on.
It is a very interesting list since everything is so different for his time. The funny thing is that it changes depending on the country. The order is USA, South Korea, UK, and Russia.
Suicide Squad (2016)
Margot Robbie made her first appearance as Harley Quinn, joker’s sidekick, in the Suicide Squad movie. The scene when she was first introduced had many eyes on her.
Harley lifts her top and if you were fast enough you could see a bit more than intended.
Signs (2002)
In the movie Signs in 2002 we can see that it ends with aliens being revealed to be real by the end of it. Well, but did you know they had shown them before the reveal?
If you pause a certain moment in the movie, you can actually see them. While it is very blurry and fast, if you stop at the right moment you can catch them. This is some good story building.
Finding Dory (2016)
The movie Finding Dory was a huge hit the moment it hit the big screen, and just like the Finding Nemo was a success, this one was too. Well, there is a little cameo of a character that showed up in that first movie.
When you see through the glass, in the back you can see a picture. That shows Darla, the niece of the scientist when dory is quarantined.
Take This Waltz (2011)
This is a comedy-drama that did not become really famous. Take This Waltz is a TV show where even though it was not popular, it still had one scene sparkle interest in the public.
In this one scene, Silverman’s says that her motivation to do it was just her reflecting on her everyday life. Well, now it is a scene where everyone pauses to see it.
Forgetting Sarah Marshall (2008)
This is a movie that everyone that has ever seen, and know it, had a lot of interesting moments in it. Just the opening scene is one you will surely not forget. Well, but one scene in particular is even more intense.
Kristen Bell is an actress that does less raunchy characters, and that is why when she made a part in this one, which is very different from the usual, many people were shocked and paused a lot during it.
Jurassic World (2015)
There are some pretty funny moments in the 2015 Jurassic World movie. One of the best moments of the movie is when Jimmy Buffett, after trying to run from a pterodactyl that is chasing everyone, ends up sprinting from the party with two cups in his hand! It is especially funny because even in the face of danger, even when his life is on the life, he first grabs his two drinks and then he runs.
These small things that the characters do more in the background make the movie seem more realistic. Even though it is about a bunch of dinosaurs, but well, at least we know that even in danger, drinking is more important.
Who Framed Roger Rabbit? (1988)
The movie Who Framed Roger Rabbit? Made in 1988 is a very, well, interesting movie. It is made with some questionable animations and very famous ones. This is a very interesting movie since it mixes animation with real people. The character who is the most alluring is Jessica Rabbit wears a very tight and revealing red dress which ends up making her more than a fan favorite.
In the movie, there is this one special scene where Jessica ends up revealing way more than any of the viewers expected. Which pleased a lot of people. But first, let’s all remember that this is a fictional character.
Psycho (1960)
In the 1960s Psycho, Anthony Perkins starred as Norman Bates. The American psychological horror film was a turning point for the horror genre, just so you know how well received it was. The character Norman was a, well, Psycho as to say. And in the end there is a scary and chilling scene! In the end, we see Norman being finally arrested and finally taken to jail.
The thing is, at the end of this movie, when he is looking at the camera, everyone who is watching can see a small moment where a skull is overlapped with his face. This makes the character way creepier.
The Lion King (1994)
This one is a very famous one. In the 1994 The Lion King movie, there is a hidden word in the movie. When in the scene where Mufasa and Sarabi are sitting on a rock and there are some things that make a work. The dust and the stars end up spelling a three-letter word not appropriate for a kids’ movie. This makes me really think about what makes a Disney writer a Disney writer.
We all know that Disney has the most weird humor of all time, and they do enjoy making some weird jokes here and there. Let’s just hope kids don’t catch on that.
She’s the Man (2006)
In the movie She’s the Man from 2006, we company the life of Amanda Bynes, which decided to join the soccer team of her school and pretend to be a man. Well, it is in fact a lie, since she is a young woman. The most paused scene is one that many people were shocked to see! Closer to the end, when she reveals that she is in fact a woman, her teammates do not believe her.
That is, of course, until she pulls her top to show and confirm her gender. Of course, you know now what those guys ended up seeing. No wonder many people paused and rewatched this scene.
Boogie Nights (1997)
In the movie Boogie Nights, we accompany Dirk Diggler, a character played by Paul Thomas Anderson. The character is a man who is trying to become an actor, but then ends up becoming something or someone else.
In the movie, there are many scenes where people really loved to pause and see, but especially in this particular scene. In the scene, Dirk takes off his shirt in front of everyone. That is why so many fans ended up pausing in this scene.
Teen Wolf (1985)
In the classic movie Teen Wolf from 1985 Michael J. Fox starred in it. Well not only that but the coming of age romcom fantasy film that was starred by Michael J. Fox was not the only movie the actor was in. He was also in Back to The future as Marty McFly.
By the end of Teen Wolf, we can see in the end a very peculiar scene. A guy with his pants down!
Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace (1999)
In the Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace made in 1999, there is a little easter-eggs not many noticed. In the little corner there is a small group of aliens that appeared in the E.T. movie. The aliens are cheering.
Why is that? Well, George Lucas paid homage to Steven Spielberg! That is because the man did the same to George when he dressed up a kid as Yoda in the E.T. movie.
Cabin in the Woods (2012)
American horror movies are one of the favorites of the public. In 2012, Cabin in the Woods came out. And even though it has some comedy in it, the most paused scene was for something else. You see, in this one scene where the scientists are trying to find out what happened to the main characters, you can see a white board with the names of various creatures.
If you were watching the movie with attention, probably clicked on the stop button to read the list. Well, all I will say is that Chris Hemsworth is in the movie!
Toy Story 3 (2010)
In the first Toy Story movie in 1995, we are introduced to Sid, a mean kid whose main deal it to dismember toys and mess with them. Well, there is a little easter-eggs with him.
In the Toy Story 3 in 2010, you can realize something. Only a small amount of fans realized that the garbage man in the movie, was actually Sid! Guess that now he needs to clean all the broken toys.
Titanic (1997)
Of course, you have seen Titanic, or at least heard about it. The movie by itself was a huge hit, and not because of this scene. The scene we are talking about is the one where rose asks Jack to draw her as “one of his French girls”. Well, this was indeed a very paused scene in this movie.
But it is not a good movie because of it. The nudity of the scene is not really shown, and the scene itself is not just fan service, but it is very important for the plot of the movie. You will know if you have seen it.
The Wolf of Wall Street (2013)
When you mention The Wolf of Wall Street, you probably think of that one scene. The scene we are talking about is the one with Margot Robbie. In this scene, the actress opens her legs and shows Leonardo DiCaprio a very interesting view.
Well, nothing ever compares to the movie, so if you have not seen it yet, we recommend you to start seeing it.
Total Recall (1990)
In this 90s movie, you can see a lot of weird things that can happen. Well, for an example, we can see that this woman has three body parts!
Well, for the picture, you might imagine which body parts we are talking about. You now know why so many stopped there, they had to double-check it.
The Rescuers (1977)
This little movie about cute mouses, has, of course, like any Disney movie, some very weird jokes. The movie The Rescuers aired in 1977 decided to make some characters go into the room and change.
Well, by the looks of it, the rats look very pleased and mildly horrified. Either way, Disney can’t keep getting up with it.
Star Wars: The Force Awakens (2015)
The Star Wars movie series is one of the best ones in old and modern cinema. The Star Wars: The Force Awakens was about finding out where the main character Luke was. And, well, how Ray ends up finding him. (don’t worry, no spoilers!).
As she gives his lightsaber to him, the movie ends. When you pause at the end of the movie, many fans theorize it is a grave sitting by.
Three Men and a Baby (1987)
Leonard Nimoy is the man behind the Three Men and a Baby movie. But did you know that Spock himself directed that movie? It is a bit hard to find it, but you’ll see.
Not only that, but he put a little easter-eggs to make it more entertaining. He put a cardboard cutout of Ted Dansos in the background. This was really hidden.
Iron Man (2008)
Of course, everyone loves Marvel movies. The first Iron Man in 2008, was, of course, a huge hit and where marvel started to hit off. And we all know how marvel likes to make all movies connect and have some things to make sense in the end.
In the Iron Man from 2008, we see Tony Stark putting his Iron Man suit. But if you look to the back of the scene, you might see a familiar shield. In the back, Captain America’s shield is being made.
Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981)
In one of the first moments of the Indiana Jones film franchise, we can see some very good moments. For an instance, we see one of the worst villains ever, being Dr.Belloq. In this movie, there is a scene that changes it.
If you pay close attention, there is a scene where Belloq ends up delivering some lines perfectly, except for something. While talking, a fly was crawling into his mouth! That is so disgusting, and it makes me wonder how these men were even able to do the scene.
Man of Steel (2013)
The movie Man of Steel is a very complicated movie. That’s because not many like the fact that Henry Cavill is playing superman. But it is still something many people like and dislike.
At a point in the movie, when superman is fighting in space, you are able to see a special logo. There is the satellite with a logo from Wayne Enterprises.
Burn After Reading (2008)
This comedy crime film, Burn After Reading, is a 2008 classic. In it, the movie won over 168 million dollars. Well, this one scene in the movie is a very funny one. This character plaid by Brad Pitt is hiding in the closet while another plaid by George Clooney tries to find him.
When he does, the shots him dead at the spot. This is where so many people paused. The death was so sudden and quickly, people wanted to make sure he was indeed dead.
Fast Times at Ridgemont High (1982)
Fast Times at Ridgemont High is a coming of age movie from the 80s, and a very famous one. This movie introduced us to many famous actors that later would become superstars. Some examples are Forest Whitaker, Nicolas Cage, Anthony Edwards and Eric Stoltz. This movie was the one that made them fly up high in their careers, and the movie captures it perfectly.
The most paused scene is, however, one where Linda, the character played by Phoebe Cates’ goes and takes a swim in the water. Well, that exactly is not the most paused scene, more like the one where she climbs up the steps.
Basic Instinct (1992)
The neo-noir erotic thriller Basic Instinct has one of the most provocative scenes in all movies made. It was such a good movie that it made $352 million worldwide and was the 4th movie that earned more money in 1992. In this movie, there is this one scene where the character played by Sharon Stone seems to be completely dressed, but there is a plot twist here.
The moment the character crossed her legs, the viewers got the view of another part of the actress. It was an unexpected surprised that many enjoyed a lot. Of course, it ended being one of the most paused scenes from the movie.
Before I Go to Sleep (2014)
In this movie, we see a very special scene where this beautiful actress is walking without clothes. Of course, she is not really naked, but fans still wanted to take a glimpse at everything she had to offer.
That is of course not the only reason many fans stopped here, but I’m sure it is a good one that many might even mention.
The Exorcist (1973)
In the famous hit film The Exorcist, we can find some terrifying and creepy stories both in and outside the scenes. But there is a specific one where many did not notice due to the speed of it.
There is this one scene where you can pause at the right moment. If you are able to do so, you can actually see the demons that possess Regan, Pazuzu the moment it did.
Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy (2004)
This 2004 hit is a comedy movie with so many easter-eggs you probably missed it. In the restaurant Escupimos en su Alimento, well, the name of it, it really is funny. It is in Spanish, so is easy for many to miss, but it has a funny translation.
This restaurant is literary called “we spit in your food” which is antigenic and hilarious for the movie. It is even better if you find it by yourself. Maybe some even used a translator.
Pulp Fiction (1994)
In Pulp Fiction, there is this character plaid by Bruce Willis that is on the run from Marcellus Wallace. Well, int this special scene you can miss it if you don’t really know what to look for, or where to look for. But just look at the back.
If you see the back you will definitely see the actor wearing, well nothing! This is a moment that people realized he really was naked there, and when he steps out of the shower you can see a lot! Of course, the die hard fans were obviously excited to see more.
Frozen (2013)
Did you know that the famous line between Anna and Hans about sandwiches is a reference? Disney loves those and is always doing something like that. In Frozen from 2013, there is a song that these two sing, in which goes “we finish each others… Sandwiches!”.
That scene looks like a direct reference to the Arrested Development. Now you may be thinking that this big company would never do that, but they do it all the time! This line was also seen in the Simpsons, so yea, we can see you Disney.
Back To The Future (1985)
Back To The Future has some great small details that make fans pause all the time, but did you know this clever one? As Marty McFly and Doc Brown have to travel back in time, they meet at Twin Pines Mall. Well, the thing is that the name changes.
Later in this movie, McFly will run over one of the two pines when he is being chased. But since he did it in the past, the future stays the same. So when he comes back to his time, we see that the sign changed to accommodate the new design.
Beauty and the Beast (1991)
In the 1991 Beauty and the Beast, there is this one scene when Gastón goes to attack the beast’s castle to try to kill him. Well, while the battle happens, he and the beast fight above, and Gastón meets the unfortunate end of falling from a really high place.
Well, many people asked themselves if Gastón really ended up dying in this one scene, and many say he did not because it is Disney after all. But by his last time in the movie, when he is about to fall, if you look close enough you see little skulls in his eyes, telling you his ending.
Bohemian Rhapsody (2018)
Bohemian Rhapsody is a classic, telling us the story of the legendary band Queen. In this movie, Rami Malek portrayed Freddie Mercury and ended up winning best actor in 2018. Well, in this movie, many were happy to see that Adam Lambert made a cameo as a trucker that questioned Freddie Mercury’s sexuality.
This is a hilarious thing! Just put on a hat and a small mustache and boom! You can barely recognize Adam. This is a very special cameo since it is him who has been the one touring as a lead singer for the band, after Freddie passed.
Jurassic Park (1993)
Not once, not twice, but three times that viewers had to stop! In this movie, there is a beautiful homage to The Goonies. That movie was a huge hit, and of course, since Steven Spielberg was the one who wrote the script for that movie, well, he wanted to help it.
He then made a fun easter-eggs. He dressed three actors in the exact same clothes as the children in the movie he wrote. This one was a hard one to find, and only the biggest fans realized it.
Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017)
As marvel movies tend to be super detailed, the new Spider-Man: Homecoming was not different. In this movie we have some very funny scenes with MJ, the girl peter will, in the future, like and date. Here, Michelle Jones is reading a book while the other are in P.E.
This is an interesting choice. The book is called Of Human Bondage, and no, it is nothing weird. The book is a 1915 novel written by W. Somerset Maugham, and it is about an orphan boy who was raised by his uncle and aunt. This makes a perfect parallel with Peter Parker, an orphan raised by his uncle and aunt.
Zootopia (2016)
Zootopia is a movie with animals as their main characters, and like any movie like this, it has some super cute details. Well, in this scene, Judy, one of our main characters, is looking through her songs and with that we get a look into creativity itself.
In the movie, our little rabbit is choosing between some great songs, that you might recognize. You can see “let it goat”, “Ara-bunny nights” and some amazing other animal puns make this scene even better than it has a right to be!
The Matrix (1999)
Okay, you for sure have heard of The Matrix. In this movie, there is this one funny detail. When the character Morpheus says that only he can show the door, Neo ends up reaching for the doorknob. Well, that is perfectly okay, if not for the reflection.
When we get a close up shot of the doorknob, we can clearly see the reflection of the cameraman. In this shot, it would be impossible to do so without having the cameras appearing, so they just went with it. Still, it did an amazing shot.
Passengers (2016)
The Passengers is a movie created and directed by Morten Tyldum. This guy, as you may not know, is a huge fan of Kubrick, which is why there is a scene with so many references to The Shinning. The director wanted to express his love in a way more fun way.
Not only that, but the bartender in the Passengers resembles a lot the robot bartender from the horror film
Jaws (1975)
This is a classic. Jaws is a movie about sharks that scarred so many people, especially the opening scene. In their scene, we can see Chrissie. In it, she ends up dying.
If you were watching this for the first time, maybe you did not even have time to pause it! Everyone was so stunned that they could not do anything.
The Crying Game (1992)
This is a thriller by Neil Jordan and was an amazing movie. There are some great scenes in this movie that made a lot of fans completely fall head over heals from it.
But still, there is this one scene where the nightclub singer, who is played by Jane Davidson, reveals she is a transgender woman. That ended up shocking the audience so much that everyone and to go back and rewatch it.
Deadpool 2 (2018)
We all know Deadpool 2 is full of funny little things. Well, one of them is this one funny detail. In a shot, you can see “the vanisher”.
In this scene, the vanisher is revealed for just a small second to be Brad Pitt.
Tarzan (1999)
Have you ever seen the 1999 Tarzan? Well, this classic has a scene that warmed everyone’s hearts. Well, in this scene we take a look at this cute monkey, and he is preparing some tea for our characters. And well, do you recognize those cups and the teapot?
Well, you probably have realized that they are from the Beauty and the Beast. The teacup and the teapot are the same ones where you find in that movie. Pretty neat, huh?
The Little Mermaid (1989)
In the 1989 classic The Little Mermaid, we have a lot of little things that caught the eye of the public. Being a very old movie, we must know that the critics are not what they are today. Not only that, but what wasn’t socially accepted around that time is okay today. In The Little Mermaid, Ariel makes a deal with a witch to make her be able to become a human and with that, she loses her voice.
At the moment she is turned into a human, and has her legs now, Ariel leaves the water, and of course, since she just became human, she does not have any clothes on. Of course, nothing ever did show up, but there was a lot of skin showing.
The Wizard of Oz (1939)
When you see the classic movie of The Wizard of Oz, made in 1939, there are a lot of easter-eggs you can find. Being a very old movie, only the real fans watch it in modern days. In a certain scene in the movie where Dorothy and her companions are walking the yellow path. There in the background in between the trees, a mysterious creature is lurking in the shadows.
In the official story, they describe the creature as a bird, but of course that does not make the fans’ theories happy. Fans theorize that the figure is munchkin that ended up hanging himself.
Wild Things (1998)
In this American neo-noir that went to make more than 62 million dollars, we are able to see some very explicit scenes. The reason why this movie was this famous is because that this movie had some explicit scenes that were a bit heavier than anyone in the 90s
Of course, the scene that was more paused in this movie was where Neve Campbell and Denise Richards end up kissing in a pool. Many people who were watching were not able to resist and ended up stopping again and again.
Tron (1982)
In the original 1982 Tron, we have a very particular scene where many people noticed something in the back of one specific shot. And of course, not only people love this classic, but loved it even more because of this little detail.
At the back, when Ed Dillinger is playing some games, we can see that one of the games is the famous Pac-Man. Of course, everyone recognized the character of the game.
Scanners (1981)
Not one of the biggest movies out there, but still interesting. This is the movie that started the real career of David Cronenberg.
In this movie, there is a very gory scene that you should watch! Well, we will not tell you about it because it is way too good to be spoiled. So go take a look.
Fight Club (1999)
In another classic, Fight Club, there is a very interesting easter-eggs where many fans ended up missing it. If you want to know more about it, you can just go back and pause at the right moment! Well, in a scene, the character that Brad Pitt portrays shows up for just a second, without any important appearance or an introduction. It is a way to show how many hidden layers this movie has and a way to make the story even more deep.
It is a very quick thing to miss and if you want to see it, you will have to waste some time trying to get a hold of the right shot.
Star Wars: A New Hope (1977)
In the Star Wars: A New Hope 1997 movie, there is a very comic scene everyone knows and loves. When a group of stormtroopers enters a room, one of them bumps their head on the frame. We obviously know this is a blooper and, of course, a funny one. But the director found it so entertaining that they decided to keep it in. It was just a way to show how charming the Star Wars universe is, and how it can also be funny.
Of course, not many people expected that the scene would make the final cut. But hey, it is always better to get some lighthearted jokes sometimes.
